Motivated Biomedical Engineering student at Dublin City University with a strong academic foundation coupled with a proven work ethic. Highly motivated to gain hands-on engineering experience, with an ability to learn quickly, communicate effectively, follow orders and perform well in structured and fast-paced environments.
Top 15% nationally
Hands-on experience designing, simulating and physically implementing electronic circuits, including RLC and rectifier circuits.
Experience creating 3D engineering models in SolidWorks, including individual components and multi-part assemblies.
Experience using Python and MATLAB for introductory programming, engineering calculations and numerical analysis.
Applying mathematical and engineering principles to analyse technical problems, develop models and work towards practical solutions.
Experience documenting laboratory work, engineering analysis and technical results in a clear and structured format.
Combining engineering principles with an understanding of human anatomy, physiology and biomechanics to explore biomedical applications.
Designed and built a 3D-printed, water-propelled boat as part of a team engineering challenge. The boat had to transport a battery pack over a 2m channel in the shortest time possible, while staying within strict size constraints (300mm x 120mm x 100mm) and maintaining stability under 30° tilt.
In a team of three, designed and built an Autonomous Guided Vehicle capable of completing a series of navigation challenges. The AGV had to follow a white line track, perform a U-turn and return, and drive in a precise circle — all autonomously.
We designed, built and tested a water-propelled 3D-printed boat. We designed and optimised the pipe network, determined the operating flow rate, and used this to calculate the jet velocity and propulsion force. We then calculated the boat’s drag, acceleration and velocity, before testing it in the water and comparing its theoretical and experimental performance.
We designed and manufactured an Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV), progressing from SolidWorks models through fabrication, assembly and testing. We developed the drive and Ackerman steering mechanisms, assembled and tested the MCU, and evaluated the AGV through line-following, turning and circle tests. Throughout the project, I developed practical skills in steering geometry, coding, electronics, SolidWorks and metalwork, while improving my teamwork and communication skills. I particularly enjoyed constructing the vehicle, with the steering mechanism providing the biggest challenge and learning experience.
